Radio awards preps hot up
25 October 2016
ORGANISERS of the inaugural Zimbabwe Radio Awards say they are set to reward talent.
The awards ceremony will be held on Saturday at 7 Arts Theatre where at least 33 categories and more than 50 radio personalities across will battle for honours.
Local acts to provide entertainment at the event are still to be announced.
Show coordinator, and Celebrity Check director, Agrippa Palazi, said:
“We have everything under control and now set for the special night on Saturday where we are honouring our best radio personalities, presenters, news anchors, producers among many.
“As Celebrity-Check, like we alluded to earlier, we are motivating these presenters with their proper status as there are the celebrities behind the celebrity.
“We are coming up with a number of local acts to perform at the event, we know everyone is eager to know these artistes, we will unveil them to you during the course of this week.
“We will also begin our tickets sales during the week so that maybe fans who would want to mingle with their favourite personality can plan earlier.
“Everything in regards to the tickets and local acts will be available on Wednesday.”
However, organisers have not yet unveiled their main sponsor for the event that has already saw the public taking part in voting for their favourite personality.
Earlier on, in media reports, Palazi notably said they were going to award recipients with certificates and still working on some of the prizes.
The ceremony was tipped to rightly bridge the gap between radio presenters and their fans and also to give them more value by creating platforms for their interactions.
