Fally Ipupa

The countdown to the big rhumba bash headlined by Fally Ipupa and set for the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC) on May 26 has begun.

Fally Ipupa is one of the best rhumba musicians of this era and his show has been dubbed a no miss event by many rhumba fans that have been waiting for the iconic rhumba star.

After the coming of Koffi Olomide and Werrason in the past years, it could only be Fally Ipupa next on the line up of the next rhumba act to grace the land.

Thanks to G World Entertainment, the Nidja singer and his full band is expected in the country on May 25.

He has also confirmed the gig via a video.

“Hey wassup Zimbabwe, this is Fally Ipupa I am going to be in Zimbabwe, Harare on the 26 of May make sure you take your ticket.

“Fally Ipupa I am coming in Zimbabwe this year Harare May 26, see you soon, hosted by G Event.”

It appears the rhumba fever has also gripped Hararians as rhumba music has also become popular with local club wheel-spinners in the capital.

Some of his popular songs like Kiname, Liputa, Ndoki, Chaise Electrique featuring Olivia, and his new song Nidja featuring R Kelly have become frequent tunes that send revelers into wild cheers on the dance floors.

SUPPORTING ACTS

A short and yet intriguing line up of artistes has been lined up for the show.

Superstar Oliver Mtukudzi, rhumba outfit Diamond Musica and Juntal of the Mutupo fame have been line up for the show.

Superstar Oliver Mtukudzi leads the pack and is the not only rhumba act on the line up.

His unique set will be expected to add flair to the show.

It will also be an opportunity to spread the gospel of his latest offering Hanya which was released a few months ago.

Diamond Musica headed by Pitshou who over the years have been on a rebuilding plan to get back to their old fame will want to utilise the opportunity to show their new standard.

The band has opened up for Koffi Olomide and Werrason when they visited the country for the carnival and their performances have been commendable.

Juntal will be a new act on stage to many and this might be a make or break for the talented musician.

His intriguing dance moves and choreography from his video Mutupo sparks curiosity to what he can offer on stage.

Top deejays Juice and AM, Raydizz and Trill Angel are also on the line up.

One of the show coordinators Dj Juice said:
