10 November 2016
LONG serving dancehall artiste, Sniper Storm – real name Donald Chirisa – has decided to end his two-year album drought by releasing his eighth offering this month end.
Titled Shoot, the 12-track album will mark the General’s return to his legion of fans.
It was recorded by top producers namely JMP, Nhubu, Russo, Oskid and T Man.
It also features a few upcoming producers who produced some tracks.
In an interview, Sniper Storm said:
“For the past two years I have only been working on singles after having released my last successful studio album Silver Bullet in 2014.
“Somehow I feel the singles have not been enough to quench the thirst of my fans.
“Many of my fans have been asking for quite a while now when my next album is coming and it’s like I have been starving them.
“At the beginning of the year I started working on this album and now is the time I feel it’s ready for release.
“As of now, I cannot give detail on the actual date and venue of release as well as of the titles of the tracks but the confirmed thing is the album will be dropping by end of November,” he said.
Several dancehall artistes like Winky D, Ricky Fire, Maggikal, Kinnah have released albums in the past two months whilst Killer T is also expected to release his on November 12, which might have prompted Sniper to release his.
“I am not in it for the competition whether these guys had not released their album I was still going to release mine because it’s been a while.
“‘I am doing this for my fans and to win more fans and not for competition,” he added.
