There was a stampede in the early hours of Saturday morning when a snake appeared during an all-night church service.

The chilling incident occurred at Prophet Sham Hungwe’s House of Grace International Church at Machipisa lunar park.

Scores of congregants were left in shock after the snake came out of a woman during a deliverance session at the all night service dubbed the “Restoration Night”.

The woman began to move like a snake when Hungwe started praying for her which then led to the snake slithering out of her clothes onto the floor causing commotion among some of the thousands that attended the event.

It was not the only drama at the all night prayer as later in the early hours of the morning people jostled to get bottles of restoration water that was being offered for free.

In an interview with the church’s spokesperson, Onayi Rutsinga, he said:

“Yes, this thing happened. It’s amazing how God works; I think this is one of the rare miracles to happen where a snake comes out of a person.

“No one expected this to happen and we just give glory to God because this was all his work. This woman actually confessed that she was part of Satanism.

“It’s quite normal for people to panic and have fear for snakes hence the stampede that happened but the situation was well handled and there were no reports of injuries whatsoever. The snake was killed and burnt.

He added;

“We had to stop the issuing of the restoration water because there was too much commotion since we had thousands of people in attendance.

“We had to issue out the water on Sunday during the service.”

Thousands thronged Hungwe’s all night service with some believed to have come from as far from Victoria Falls, Kariba and Bulawayo.

The all night service, which started at 6pm last Friday, had people flocking the venue as early as midday on the day of the event and only had to leave around 8am on Saturday.
