‘Star FM ZimNtulikazi a success’
26 July 2016
Star FM’S new programme ZimNtulikazi, which celebrates local music, has been endorsed as a success.
Dubbed #ZimNtulikazi (Ntulikazi being the Ndebele word for July), the month-long celebration that comes to an end this week, saw the station playing 100 percent Zimbabwean music.
In an interview, Star FM programming manager, Napoleon Nyanhi, said:
“Feedback on social media platforms has been overwhelming. Listeners took the theme to heart and supported local artistes.
“We are proud to have been at the forefront of uplifting home-grown talent. Our bias towards local music will continue even after Zim Ntulikazi.
“The theme was so popular that variations of it started trending on social media for example like hush tag Zim two litres and hush tag Zviri mu two litres.â€
This Friday, the station will have the best of ZimNtulikazi between midday and 1pm presented by DJ Mox.
The show will showcase the best 10 local songs that were very popular during the month.
In August, the station’s theme digs from the seeds of greatness planted by the liberation war heroes to expose present day legends.
The theme of the month of August has been dubbed #Legendary.
