TALENT FOR TURKEY
9 January 2018
ZIMBABWE international Talent Chawapihwa is already attracting interest from Europe a few months after moving to the Absa Premiership.
H-Metro can reveal that a Turkish club is keeping tabs on the Baroka star who was signed from FC Platinum for a fee close to R1 million.
The talented Chawapihwa immediately established himself at South African side who had a great start to the season.
And his performances for the club have not gone unnoticed, with strong indications that he could just make the break, hardly a year after his arrival in South Africa.
Although the player’s manager Kelvin Nyazema could not be reached for comment yesterday, reliable sources indicated that a move for the player was imminent.
“The Turkish club have been keeping their tabs on him and chances are they could now make a move this January.
“The fact that he recently signed a contract with Baroka however means that if they decide to buy him, he will not come cheap.
“Enquiries are set to be made but it’s not very clear if they will first want to assess him first or just negotiate for a contract,” said the source.
Locally, Chawapihwa also played for Harare City and ZPC Kariba.
National team coach Sunday Chidzambwa has already described him as one of the very best Zimbabwean wing players.
