Teenager in gun storm
25 August 2017
A 17-YEAR-OLD boy has been nabbed after he was allegedly found in possession of a gun in Mabelreign.
The teenager was not asked to plead when he appeared before Harare magistrate Elisha Singano charged with unlawful possession of a firearm.
He was released in the custody of his guardian and the matter was remanded to September 7.
Allegations are that on August 21 at around 4pm, police officers at Mabelreign Police Station received information to the effect that the teenager is in possession of a firearm.
A search was conducted on the boy at Zuva Service Station along Sherwood Drive in Marbelreign and the boy was reportedly found in possession of a pistol on his waist.
He was asked to produce a valid firearm licence and he failed to produce one.
After some investigations by the police officers, it was discovered that the firearm was not licensed or registered in Zimbabwe.
