WADI TO FACE OLD CLUB
13 July 2018
ISHMAEL Wadi looks set to face his former paymasters Bulawayo City at Barbourfields on Saturday.
Yesterday the player said he was ready to score goals while his coach Mark Harrison confirmed that he will be in the team.
Wadi is a result of a swap deal between his parent club FC Platinum and Harare City, a deal which saw Farai Madhanhanga making his move to the former permanent. The striker was on loan at Bulawayo City.
“I have come to a very good team. They build play from the back, which is nice. What I’m now expecting are goals,” Wadi said.
“There are two players I have played with, Musharu and Bright. We have played together at Monoz.
“Hopefully, you can expect that (goals). That is my target and you can expect goals from me. I have to keep them (Harare City) where they are or do better so I expect to score more goals,” he added.
Harare City coach Harrison is delighted to have one of the most highly-rated strikers in the country.
“I’m sure we will see him play part of the game. I hope he is going to bring us goals. He was their top scorer last year and he was their top scorer until he left last week,” Harrison said.
Yesterday the striker was training with his new teammates ahead of the BF showdown.
“(He is) very technically good and in front, we know he has an eye for goals. But it is going to take some weeks for him to adjust to what we want. We have got to be patient with him and give him a chance,” he said.
