Warrant of arrest for forex dealer

A 40-year-old woman, who was last week convicted of illegal dealing in currency, has been issued with a warrant of arrest after she failed to attend court for her sentence.
Rosa Samudi of Southerton was found guilty when she appeared before Harare magistrate Josephine Sande charged with dealing in currency.
She was granted US$100 bail when she appeared before magistrate Sande and she was expected to appear in court yesterday for her sentence.
The State, represented by Sebastian Mutizirwa proved that on October 5, Constable Obey Rice and Detective Chinyuku were deployed in the Central Business District, under the operation “Dzosai mari’ to arrest illegal dealers in currency.
While they were at Roadport Terminus, Samudi who was holding a wads of bond notes, South African Rand and United States Dollars, approached the two officers and offered the currency for sale.
Samudi was arrested and searched leading to the recovery of US$30, R10 and $190,35 bond notes.
