We are still in race:- Mapeza
17 August 2017
FC PLATINUM coach Norman Mapeza blamed poor defending on set pieces after their 2-1 loss to Caps United at Rufaro yesterday.
Caps United got their goals from Dominic Chungwa and Stephen Makatuka who all connected with their head from corner kicks.
Despite the loss, Mapeza believes his side is still in the title race and will have to work on their shortcomings.
“Yes it is game of football, we came here looking for three points unfortunately it didn’t happen. I hate to say we are going back to the drawing board because the boards will be finished. We are going to rectify the problems.
“Our defending on set pieces wasn’t up to scratch. For the past games we have been conceding and everything was happening from set pieces so we have to rectify that problem. The organisation, concentration wasn’t there and communication. Like I said we will go back to Zvishavane and try to rectify the problem and look forward.” he said.
FC Platinum captain Petros Mhari echoed his gaffer’s sentiments saying they have to work hard on their defending on set pieces.
“Like what the coach said, we have to work hard on our defending on set pieces. We have to work hard, we are still within reach, just four points. Ngezi still have to play Caps, Ngezi have to play Dynamos, Ngezi have to play Chicken Inn and we are all done with those clubs. Caps they will come to Mandava, so we are still in it, we are not yet out of the race, it’s just four points away. We will keep pushing and see what happens come end of the season,” he said.
