We need lion hearts: Murwira
9 July 2018
NGEZI Platinum defender Godknows Murwira acknowledges that they have to roll up their sleeves and start collecting maximum points.
Ngezi suffered their fourth consecutive defeat at the hands of Herentals at National Sports Stadium after Tinotenda Benza scored the only goal of the match.
“We are coming from a bad spell that we suffered in the last three matches of the first half.
“We suffered three consecutive defeats and when we thought things would turn around, you get another defeat.
“We were prepared to turn around our situation,” Murwira said.
“It’s unfortunate on our part that Herentals managed to do what we could not do,” he added.
“We must pick ourselves up and focus on picking points. We have to have lions’ hearts, we have to be man enough to fight for the championship.
“We have to start winning now if we still want to win the championship,” he said.
“We were not ourselves in the first half, we were not pushing that hard. We were not the Madamburo I know and that suggest that a lot still needs to be done.
“We need to start the game on a high note for the betterment of everyone.
“We can’t say it wasn’t fair because we lost, if I say it was not fair it will look like I am defending myself from the loss,” Murwira added.
The 25-year-old defender also said that they did train harder during the break yet they did not get the desired result.
“We corrected our mistakes we literally did everything, I don’t know what happened or how we conceded.
“At training we did everything so I cannot say we did not cover much ground during the two weeks break,” he said.
“When you concede the pressure comes more on you, we were looking for our shape since were looking for an equaliser that we did not get.
“It is so disappointing dropping points because it really puts our chance of winning the title in the danger-zone,” he added.
