AFRO-JAZZ diva, Edith We Utonga, has dedicated her third album titled Madalitso, to friends and relatives who stood on her side after surviving an accident a few years ago.
The eight-track album, according to the artiste, is a dedication to her friends who stood by her side when she survived an accident that put her in a comma.
“Madalitso is a dedication to everyone who has played a crucial role in my life even in what some may term small contributions but to me were huge.
“In 2009, l survived a horrific car accident which fractured my hip and I suffered serious head injuries that left me scarred. At that time, I was unaware that I was pregnant miraculously l survived and so did my baby.
“I received assistance from people from the media, my friends in the diaspora, churches, and family members, among others. For me to be the person I am today, it’s because of those people.
“I then decided to compose this album as a way of expressing my heartfelt gratitude to them,” said the artiste.
WeUtonga also noted she took time to release the album as she was searching for proper words to express her gratitude.
“When expressing gratitude you need proper words that go to the depth of the audience to which they are directed. I had to contemplate and meditate so that this album could reach the rightful audience,” she added.
The album had tracks such as “Madalitso”,”Uthando Lwako” and “Bonga” among others.
