THE coach to lead the Warriors against Barcelona legends is yet to be known with only about three weeks before that match.

Zifa are yet to appoint a substantive coach for the Warriors.

Norman Mapeza led the team in the AFCON qualifiers while Sunday Chidzambwa was in charge at the Cosafa Castle cup and for the CHAN qualifiers.

Yesterday both the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) and the Ministry of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture, could not give clarity.

The Ministry, which has been behind visits by Barcelona legends of late, is behind the match that has been set for the first week of November at National Sports Stadium.

ZIFA communications manager Xolisani Gwesela told H-Metro that it wasn’t their responsibility to comment on the match preparations.

“We are not in a good position to give you any details yet. This match was planned by the Ministry and we as ZIFA are here to take directives from them. I think its best if you approach the Ministry. Try calling them on their landline or find a way to talk to permanent secretary Mr Benson Dube,” Gwesela said.

Acting permanent secretary Dube’s did not shed much light on the issue.

“ZIFA is taking care of that. But all the same, we are working on that and yes the Warriors will get in camp and they will train and prepare for the match, just like how they do for any other match. We will be updating you on all developments,” he said, avoiding the finer details.
