A CITY woman claims her former husband is violent as he frequents her place of residence harassing and beating her up.
Felistas Laye opened up at the Harare Civil Court seeking for a peace order against her husband Saidi Shwaleya.
“Your Worship, I am applying for a peace order against my husband Shwaleya who frequently visits my place beating me up.
“I do not want her to abuse me and also he has to be stopped from visiting my place of residence.
“We do not stay together since we divorced but he is a very violent man,” she said.
“He always insults me with vulgar language in front of the children and also my neighbours.
“He threatened to assault me this year in August so I want us to have peace.”
In response, Shwaleya denied the claims saying he still loved her husband.
“I am opposed, Your Worship to all the accusations.
“I love my wife and I would not harass my wife and I want her back to our matrimonial house.
“I have never abused her or harasses her she is the one who divorced me but l still want her back,” he said.
Magistrate Larzin Ncube granted the peace order in Laye’s favour.
