Woman bakes weed cakes

A 31-YEAR-OLD woman was nabbed on Boxing Day at her place of residence in Harare for baking some small ‘weed cakes’ which she intended to sell.
Nyasha Natasha Muronda of Greendale was arrested by police detectives from CID Drugs and Narcotics after baking 12 cakes.
Muronda was then taken to the Harare magistrates’ court charged with possession of dangerous dagga.
She admitted to the charges when she appeared before magistrate Gamuchirai Siwardi who remanded her out of custody to January 9 for sentence.
Circumstances leading to her arrest were that on December 26 in the afternoon, detectives received a tip-off that Muronda was baking weed cakes at her place of residence.
The detectives then proceeded to her place of residence where they found her working in her illegal ‘confectionary business’.
Reports are that the detectives searched her and found 12 ready to sell cakes which were laced with dagga.
She was then taken to court where she was charged with possession of dangerous drugs.
