Woman gang raped, robbed
6 September 2017
Three Epworth men are in trouble after they allegedly took turns to have sexual intercourse with a woman without her consent.
Edwin Bvunzawabaya, 33, Givemore Kupaka, 31, and Last Sithole, 32, were not asked to plead when they appeared before Harare magistrate Josephine Sande facing charges of rape and robbery.
The matter was remanded to September 19 and the trio was advised to approach the high court for bail application.
Circumstances leading to the arrest of the accused persons are that on September 3, they went to the complainant’s home knowing that she was alone as they had seen the husband at a nearby beer hall.
It is the State’s case that the trio gained entry to the house by forcing the door open.
The court heard that they robbed the complainant of her property.
The State alleges that the complainant and her nine year old child were awake and the lights were on so they could identify the accused persons.
Further allegations are that the trio then took the complainant to a river and took turns to rape her.
