LEGEND Zenzo Moyo says goals are in his blood.

Zenzo rose from the bench before scoring Zimbabwe’s first goal against Barcelona Legends at National Sports Stadium yesterday.

The match ended 2-2.

Patrick Kluivert scored a brace before Zenzo’s acrobatic overhead kick and Edward Sadomba’s goal that levelled the scores.

“Goals are in my DNA and whenever I’m in the pitch, I have to score goals.

“It is normal for me and I felt happy to be back in the pitch playing against the Barcelona legends,” Zenzo told H-Metro.

Coach Sunday Chidzambwa started with the less active former players and then ended the game with the more active players.

Ronald Sibanda, Bhekithemba Ndlovu, Desmond Maringwa, Sadomba and Joel Luphahla lifted the gear, ensuring Zimbabwe came back from 2-0 down.

“What was more important is that we had a great game as former players. The result does not matter. It is always great to come together like this and play such matches,” Zenzo said.

Moses Chunga was in the starting XI.

“The idea of playing as former players was what was more important for us. We thank everyone who came up with this great idea. We really enjoyed and it brought back some memories from the past. It was football for the fans,” said Chunga.

“We also thank the support from Prophet Magaya. He has done well and we appreciate that as former footballers. We hope there will be more of these matches,” he said.

The likes of Kalisto Pasuwa, Tinashe Nengomasha and Benjani Mwaruwari all started.

Ian Gorowa also played a part and urged Zifa to continue with the project.

“This is a great initiative. I think this should be appreciated and if Zifa can continue with this, we will really appreciate as former players. This way, the former players we will feel that the association is not living us out,” Gorowa said.
