Zim artiste breaks new ground

SOUTH AFRICA based rapper Jimmie Maleta has collaborated with Jamaican dancehall artiste Kahsion in his latest offering.
Titled I wanna Know, the collaboration is doing well on Jamaican radio stations such as Mello FM and Power 106.
In an interview, Jimmie said:
“If ever my music is going to be known out there, now is my time because of the current attention it is having in Jamaica and here in SA.
“It’s been a while since I recorded a great song, so this is my chance to prove that I have what it takes in the industry.”
To some, Jimmie might be a nonentity but the artiste did a few collaborations with Nox, Maskiri, Blush and Chagwa Black among others.
Asked why he chose to fuse his genre and dancehall, he said:
“I was only trying to work my way up in the market through the collaboration which I think is doing well for now.
“It’s a dope fusion and has helped me extend my influence by opening a Jamaican fan base for me.”
He said he is currently in the studio working on his third album.
“I will be launching my third album titled Dare Renjuzu early next year and currently putting final touches to some tracks.
“I am also shooting accompanying videos that will be launched the same time as the album,” he said.
To date, Jimmie has released two albums namely Ndipeiwo Mukana and Maleta Music, three international collaborations with Captain Blue (Nigeria), Papi Minoki (DRC) and Jamaican Kahsion.
