Zim, DRC artistes come together

SUPERSTAR Oliver “Tuku” Mtukudzi says the coming together of Congolese rhumba star, Fally Ipupa and rhumba outfit Diamond Musica led by Congolese national Pitshou alongside Zimbabwean musicians Juntal and himself will cement Africa Day Celebrations.
The Fally Ipupa show to be held on May 26 at the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC) a day after the Africa Day celebrations, will stand to be the celebration bash of the special day recognised on the continent.
Zimbabweans and their Congolese counterparts are expected to come together as they celebrate and dance to music from musicians from the two countries.
“Africa Day is every day, the 25th just reminds us that we are African and we are black lets unite and stand together.
“The event that brings Congo and Zimbabwe together shows that Africa is Africa because of the coming together, Zimbabwe alone can’t be Africa,” said Tuku during an interview on Star FM’s 326 Xpress with KVG.
Tuku who recently launched his 67th album titled Hany’ga, urged fans to put on their dancing shoes and to come in numbers, come May 26.
“Musapfeke gogo , put on your dancing shoes tinyaso shiringinya.
“Huyai muzoona dynamite, come and witness the exploding of a dynamite .
“These events are created for people, this is the time to come together and celebrate and forget about our worries and refresh, so let’s come in numbers,” he added.
Tuku said he is ready and rearing to go for the show.
“Aiwa takagadzirira tinenge tiriko takadzisunga musi wa26 May.
“Tinongoda mutambo une mutserendende , tongosangana wechikuru wanoita zvavanoita zvekumush kwavo.”
Tuku also said the show was also an opportunity for him to watch Juntal’s set since he does not know the youthful musician.
Juntal, an upcoming rhumba musician is currently riding high with the song Mutupo.
Top deejays Juice and AM, Selekta Base, Raydizz and Trill Angel are also expected to perform. to share decks at the show.
