Zim gospel artists in Jozi Worship Nite
24 November 2016
WHILE many will be making their way to various night spots across Johannesburg, a group of Zimbabwean gospel musicians will kick off their Gospel Worship Nite in Germiston, east of Johannesburg at the Glory of Zion Ministries on Friday.
The musical extravaganza, which will start at 9pm till 5am, will be based on Acts chapter 16 verse 25 where apostles Paul and Silas engaged in musical praise and worship while under arrest.
The event will be hosted by Apostle Shingie Chigogora, who leads the Glory of Zion Ministries.
Musician Joel Maphosa has been coordinating the whole event.
“It is a worship night which we have invited gospel artists from Zimbabwe, South Africa and Botswana. The idea is to have time to worship God together regardless of which country you come from,” said Maphosa who has three albums under his belt with his most notable video being Tumai which airs on Christ TV.
“We came up with the idea of the Night of Worship to bring together members of the different Christian denominations so that we can worship God as one.
“It is an opportunity for the upcoming and established gospel artists to be together and share ideas as well. Entry to the event is free,” said Apostle Shingie.
Among the artists that will grace the event will be Ruth Mapfumo, Divah Size, Zet Mundluri, Bro Vic, Ashley Manzunzu, Pardon Chitatu and many others. The address of the venue is 74A Victoria Street in Germiston.
