ZIMONDI’S SON IN COURT
11 October 2017
ZIMBABWE Prison and Correctional Services boss, Paradzai Zimondi’s son on Monday appeared in court answering to charges of trespassing.
Tinashe Owen Zimondi, 23, of house number 14251 MN Drive, Gunhill in Borrowdale, pleaded not guilty to the charges when he appeared before Harare magistrate Eric Kadye.
The accused, who is employed by the Zimbabwe Prison and Correctional Services, was remanded out of custody on US$20 bail and his trial will commence tomorrow.
The State, led by prosecutor Shambadzeni Fungura, is alleging that the accused on October 7 unlawfully entered the premises of the complainant, Catherine Muchigami, at house number 39 Lomagundi Road in Avondale at around 5:45am.
Muchigami greeted the accused who then ordered to remain silent.
Further allegations are that the complainant then called her brother-in-law Talent Chitiyo who interrogated Zimondi on how he entered the premise.
Zimondi is alleged to have told Chitiyo that he was following Muchigami since she had stolen his US$200 while at a local bar.
