ZRP salute Macheso, Kariba
18 April 2016
THE Kariba community has saluted Zimbabwe Red Cross Society Humanitarian Ambassador Alick Macheso for continuously educating Kariba people about disasters.
Commenting at the official launch of the World Bank Global Fund for Disaster Risk Reduction in Siakobvu, Nyaminyami Rural District, the Zimbabwe Republic Police Officer in Charge Mutembedzi said Red Cross Society had played a leading role in educating the community about how to avoid crime and disasters.
“We are there because of the work you gave to us. Always remember that I am your officer in charge; not for the police officers but for the community. My office is your office, you must often feel free to come and say out your security problems,†he said.
The local Senator Chief Nebiri also thanked the Zimbabwe Red Cross Society and their partner Danish Red Cross who were represented by Andrew Oliver Smith for the community programme.
“Zimbabwe Red Cross Society is a service organisation and I want to thank them for the good work they are doing here. I also thank their Ambassador Alick Macheso for his commitment to come out here,†Chief Nebiri said.
