A Harare man left the court with egg on his face after his wife was granted a peace order against him and ordered not to visit her place.
Vimbai Jeranhondo told the Harare Civil Court that she was sick and tired of her estranged husband, Innocent Kwaramba’s tendency of insulting and threatening to kill her.
She said Innocent sometimes comes to her workplace just to cause violence.
“He moved out to stay with another woman, and he now calls me when he’s with her just to insult me.
“I want him to stop threatening to kill me or to insult me in front of my clients,” said Vimbai.
Kwaramba disputed Vimbai’s testimony, saying she was promiscuous and he had moved out after he caught her red-handed in bed with another man.
“Her whole affidavit is fabricated. She chased me from home after I found out that she was sleeping with another man and I am staying at my brother-in-law’s house,” he said.
Kwaramba stated that Vimbai was in possession of his clothes, ID and work cards, and wanted her to return them.
Magistrate Sharon Mashavira warned Kwaramba to maintain peace and not to visit Vimbai’s house.
